she admitted it OMFG she admitted it well she acknowledged it....holy farkin duck shit

she still doesnt remember soooo much its beginning to wear on me her stay now but there is only a matter of days left but Iv been severely rationing the tramadol and so I havent had the anxiety reduction effect from it, but then im almost out of it too and iv just been too busy with all the work around the house we have been doing to go back to the doctor to get more.

it gets to me when she talks about what she remembers the past because she randomly fills in the gaps and alters it that she can cope with it. oh and according to her PTSD isnt a mental illness its just a really bad patch.

it was weird last week she was telling me there was nothing wrong with me at all but that I would benefit from a stay at the melbourne clinic and it is something I should pursue for myself once all the moving in has finished and we have settled in.

and then tonight she acknowledged it

the entire conversation was almost one sided I just sat on the verandah watching the fire we had out there for heat while we droned on with the same old story half history half fantasy and then she came out with it.

her denial does upset me. we cannot talk about anything at all from the last 25 years if someone else recalls something she shuts down or tries to change the subject related or not, obviously her extensive memory loss upsets her. but what upsets me is that to cope with that only she is allowed to remember because alot of it she has to create on the spot.

I just wish life could be normal my memory isnt the greatest either but I hope I never deny everything which has made me who I am one day.

    Hi wyvernsrose,

Welcome to this community.  PTSD can be a debilitating disorder yet it often does not get enough attention.  Yet, there is an upsurge of research of both medication and non-medication modalities which may better treat PTSD in the future.
